Enrolment Policy

Children turning 5 years old before April 30th begin school in that year in late January. Students turning 5 from May 1st begin school the following year. Transition from Kindy to Reception occurs for 9 Friday sessions in Term 4 of the previous year. During the first few weeks after enrolment, the children’s attendance may be negotiated with the Junior Primary teacher. Families are welcome to visit our school at any time. Phone to make an appointment and you can expect a comprehensive introduction to our school.

Transition Policy

Children starting school experience many new things. The school transition program, we call ours Fabulous Friday, helps families and children to make a smooth transition from preschool to school. Fabulous Friday can be accessed in fourth term the year before starting school (see Enrolment Information). During this time the children interact in various play-based activities, with staff, other adults and students in the school. As time to start school draws closer, extra class visits can be arranged.

Scott Creek Primary School will be closed on days that the Bureau of Meteorology deems the Fire Danger Rating to be CATASTROPHIC. Parents will be notified in writing or by text message the day before.
